Aegis iLaunch software optimizes Sigma Technologies’ NPI process

January 25th, 2012

Sigma was looking for comprehensive CAD/BOM import with error corrections, rapid conversion to intelligent data, and revision control for documentation and programming. Accordingly, they found that Aegis’ iLaunch software allows rapid and accurate conversion of CAD/BOM data to revenue producing products with secure revision control.

iLaunch’s Juki IS interface and accurate Juki IS programming capabilities were major influences in Sigma’s decision. Juki IS is itself an intelligent manufacturing software package designed to optimize and streamline production on the shopfloor. The interface with iLaunch allows the Juki manufacturing environment to be closely integrated into Sigma’s NPI strategies.

iLaunch’s features optimize the assembly definition process, while generating quality information and manufacturing instructions from CAD/BOM data. Its single environment supports instruction sequences for system and mechanical assemblies as well as graphical visual aids for circuit card assembly. Product and version control is maintained, data integrity is verified and discrepancies are corrected before reaching production. Operators benefit from rapid, flexible generation of paper-based and paperless documentation and visual aids, and receive change notices, process deviations and quality alerts in real time.

Sigma’s key commercial and personal electronics customers include Ericsson, Positivo and LG. The Company’s core business includes high-tech electronics assembly, and is now moving towards chip manufacturing to be used on memory products, such as smart cards, NAND flashes for mobile phones and flash memories for memory modules.

“Ultimately, our business growth depends on our speed and efficiency in converting design data into deliverable revenue-generating products” commented Wilcar Junho, President of Sigma Technologies. “Accordingly, we chose Aegis and their iLaunch software as the best available route to achieving these objectives”.

Roadnet Technologies Introduces New Software For Transportation

January 9th, 2012

Vehicle routing and scheduling company Roadnet Technologies has announced the introduction of the Roadnet Transportation Suite version 3.50 (RTS v3.50), the latest edition of its vehicle routing, tracking, and fleet management software designed to improve the overall efficiencies for transportation fleet owners.

The latest application incorporates technological upgrades that more accurately tracks service time maintenance intervals, improves the quality of location delivery cost reports, and includes new functionality features to address a range of product and delivery variables. The product was successfully tested and implemented by existing Roadnet Technologies customers operating in a diverse set of industries, and is offered as an upgrade for the company’s suite of vehicle routing, scheduling and GPS tracking software toolset.

“RTS v3.50 reflects the result of feedback and extensive conversations with our existing customers in our on-going effort to design upgrades to our software packages that can be applied directly in the transportation logistics field,” stated Len Kennedy, Chief Executive Officer of vehicle routing company Roadnet Technologies. “Our team of engineers utilized this input to implement new features and functionality that can achieve important bottom-line and resource efficiency results,” he added.

The fleet management software upgrades focused primarily on the service time maintenance, location delivery costs, and mid-route sourcing product features, as well as adding increased functionality to the software package. Roadnet Transportation Suite v3.50 is suitable for a diverse range of transportation logistics applications and, with the new design elements, can address the requirements specific to the solid waste industry, such as different container sizes, waste types and depot capabilities. This routing software version’s flexibility is especially relevant in recycling operations, heavy equipment allocation and maritime container movement.

The Service Time Maintenance Tool ensures that future routes and calculations are more accurate by utilizing historical service times to compute predicted maintenance intervals. The tool also includes updates when actual quantities are fixed but service times vary.

A Location Delivery Cost report module has also been incorporated into RTS v3.50 that provides accurate data regarding the actual costs for visiting individual customers. In addition, users of the vehicle GPS tracking software package have the ability to view multiple depots and determine their customized differences, aided by a proprietary color-coding system.

Other features of this version of Roadnet’s fleet tracking and management software include additional break windows for routers to configure their system to account for extended work days; a Mid-Route Sourcing feature that factors in additional activities during the regular pick-up and drop-off schedule; and a Return to Stop and Redeliver element that addresses overlooked product that failed to be delivered at the pre-determined stop.
