SPI Software Selected by Caliente Resorts

August 31st, 2010

Caliente Resorts – clothing-optional luxury resorts offering vacations through a points-based club, along with hotel accommodations and whole ownership availability – recently purchased the vacation ownership industry’s leading software by SPI Software.

“We’re anticipating adding a number of locations,” says Caliente COO Steve Dorsey. “Right now we have facilities in Tampa and the Dominican Republic, but we’ll be expanding beginning later in the year. That’s why we needed software like SPI’s. We compared it with other timeshare- and resort-oriented software products, but none were built using current technology that would support adding multiple types of functionality, usage and ownership like SPI.”

Says SPI VP of Sales Matt Brosious, “Caliente Resorts’ team has already been trained and is using our Sales and Marketing module. We will soon be phasing in our centralized reservations, maintenance fee billing and collections and front desk management modules.”

Student registration printing a huge success thanks to software supplied by SPI

March 23rd, 2010

PI, the African distributor for utility software products and services to the open systems segment of the IT industry, today announced that printing associated with student registration at the University of Johannesburg this year was a huge success.
“Student registration is always a stressful time for any educational establishment,” commented Tinus van Zyl of the University of Johannesburg. “Although the registration itself is handled by our ITS system, the printing requirement from this or any other system can often turn out to be a nightmare.”

“We recently upgraded our printing system to COSprint, which was supplied via SPI, and this year’s registration printing was the first real test for this new software,” added Van Zyl. “The software investment that we made has more than been justified in that this was our smoothest year ever from a printing perspective, and didn’t, for instance, utilise any of the support that SPI had organised for us to handle any issues should they arise.”
COSprint is an advanced output management and print spooling package used by enterprises with an IT infrastructure incorporating UNIX and/or Linux servers, and has a significant base of users in South Africa.
