Paragon Routing Software Optimizes Regular Deliveries

November 4th, 2011

A new software development from Paragon Software Systems, Inc. ( http://www.paragonrouting.com/us ) enables transportation operators to organize deliveries to arrive on site at similar times each day. Using the special Arrival Time Banding feature in Paragon routing and scheduling optimization software results in more manageable deliveries for customers as staff no longer need to break off from their other duties to receive deliveries at different times of the day. It also allows transportation operators to make full utilization of their drivers and trucks, while providing the service improvements.

The new feature incorporates the different time zones used across the USA and Canada and will be beneficial to operators when planning and optimizing multiple deliveries on fixed routes, or even dynamic routes. Arrival Time Banding provides a win-win for transportation operators and their customers through improvements in transportation by enabling achievable cost-effective deliveries within agreed intervals.

This Paragon software module makes short work of creating the multiple delivery plans, allocating the resources and optimizing the routes and schedules. It has the flexibility to choose the most efficient delivery times for each customer while also ensuring that regular deliveries are always within, for example, the same one hour time band each day. This gives the customer the ability to include the deliveries within a more manageable daily routine while taking account of any delivery restrictions such as early store closing or site inaccessibility at certain times.

Paragon customers already benefiting from Arrival Time Banding include Martin-Brower, the world’s largest distributor to the quick service restaurant industry. All 23 Martin-Brower distribution centers in North America, Canada and Puerto Rico use the system for daily routing of multi-frequency deliveries to more than 6,000 customers, supplying them with all their frozen and dry goods, packaging, cleaning products and ancillaries.

Chuck Gans, Director, Operations Support, Martin-Brower said this about Paragon routing software: “…It also enables Arrival Time Banding, ensuring locations with multiple delivery frequencies are all delivered within a user-defined number of minutes on all delivery days. This avoids some customers receiving morning deliveries on one route, and an afternoon or evening delivery on the next.”

Arrival Time Banding is one of the many reasons why companies choose Paragon’s Windows-based software to computerize their transportation planning. The software enables them to create optimized routes and schedules automatically. This allows them to improve their services while reducing cost and making best use of their resources. The software enables all types of transportation planning, including dynamic and fixed routes and schedules, and strategic modeling, making it the choice of companies such as Loveland Distributing, Toyota Material Handling USA, CEVA, Exel Supply Chain, Life Gas, AgReliant Genetics and National Food Corporation.

Paragon software introduces ntfs and hfs+ for android, eliminating all interoperability barriers between windows or mac pcs and android-based mobile and multimedia devices

October 14th, 2010

Paragon Software Group (PSG), the technology leader in innovative mobile device and embedded system solutions, today announced the addition of Paragon NTFS and HFS+ for Android to its series of universal file system drivers created to tackle the incompatibilities of multimedia systems with NTFS or HFS+ formatted portable storage devices. Paragon NTFS and HFS+ for Android provides a stable, high-performance solution to the challenges of developing embedded systems using the open-source Android platform, such as the design and manufacture of next-generation handheld media players, digital video, smart handheld devices and other portable products.

Delivering high-performance file transfer rates, Paragon NTFS and HFS+ for Android was developed to enable Android-based devices to use storage media formatted by MacOS and Windows operating systems, thus allowing end users to access stored content that was inaccessible to FAT32 storage media file systems , which capped file size at 4GB – not enough to hold a single DVD movie, let alone one of High-Definition Video or Blu-ray quality.

Increasing demand by end users to access a wide range of multimedia and data content from portable storage devices has prompted Paragon to extend its specialized Universal File System Driver (UFSD) technology offerings.

“The challenge in expanding Android-based technology into other segments of the consumer electronics market has centered around interoperability issues, with huge potential wins for Android,” says Konstantin Komarov, Paragon Software CEO.

“Paragon’s support for NTFS and HFS+ under Android solves the file system incompatibility to help spur growth in an entirely new range of applications. We believe that issue-free interoperability with the worlds of Windows and Mac provided by Paragon NTFS and HFS+ for Android will help vendors of Android devices to widen into new markets.”

With its deep focus on cross-platform technologies for operating systems and embedded kernels, Paragon is recognized as the first software developer to provide full read/write access between incompatible file systems.

Konstantin Komarov will discuss high-edge cross-platform technologies such as Paragon NTFS and HFS+ for Android at China Sourcing Fair, October 12-15, 2010.

“Paragon’s extensive experience in cross-platform support of NTFS, HFS+ and other file systems has been proven with millions of installations around the world,” says Komarov.

“We like to think of ourselves as problem solvers, and ensuring platform independence through file system compatibility is a core competency that has earned us valuable customer partnerships.

Our technology also fulfills the need for performance – and high performance is absolutely critical for applications that require High-Definition Video playback.”

The new NTFS and HFS+ for Android is based on Paragon’s unique UFSD technology, which was specially developed to provide full high performance access (read/write, format, etc.) to volumes of the most popular file systems (NTFS, FAT, Ext2/3FS, etc.) under various platforms (Android, Windows, Mac, Linux, DOS, etc.)

where these file systems normally are not supported. NTFS and HFS+ for Android allows silicon chip designers and manufacturers of automotive and home multimedia centers, as well as other mobile and embedded devices, to make their products more user-friendly and meet the market demand for high performance access to large data files, such as HD video.
