For the second year in a row, the OpenNMS project (www.opennms.org) has won InfoWorld’s prestigious Bossie (Best of Open Source Software) award in the “Networking Software” category. The Bossie Awards annually recognize the best open source software for business.
Tarus Balog, OpenNMS project maintainer and CEO of The OpenNMS Group, Inc, said: “We are humbled once again that OpenNMS has been selected for a BOSSIE Award. The success of OpenNMS is due to the thriving open-source community that has grown up around the project, and InfoWorld’s recognition of the excellence of OpenNMS is all the more notable because OpenNMS is a 100% free and open source project, without any outside funding or investment.”
Balog noted further: “We are also pleased to point out that, of the other open-source projects that won in the networking category, OpenNMS integrates with three of them: Hyperic HQ, RANCID and OTRS. It is a honor to be in their company, and in the company of all the other winning projects, too.”
