Software maker Deltek to acquire Input for $60M

Business software maker Deltek Inc. said Thursday that it will acquire database and market information company Input Inc. for $60 million in an all-cash transaction.

The deal is expected to close Friday.

Input, based in Reston, Va., has nearly 200 employees and had revenue of $26.2 million for 2009. Deltek, based in Herndon, Va., said Input’s capabilities complement its existing applications.

Shares of Deltek, whose software and services help automate project management, fell 10 cents to $8.03 in early afternoon trading.

New jersey information technology services company leads a free technology makeover donation

Exigent Technologies, a New Jersey information technology services company announced that the firm, in conjunction with Cisco Systems, Microsoft, HP and other local IT services companies donated hardware, software and professional IT services valued at over $30,000 to a local non-profit organization. The beneficiary of the free technology makeover is Newark, New Jersey-based AIDS Resource Foundation for Children.

Products and services donated included MP3 players, Microsoft XBOX video game consoles and games, data cabling, the design and implementation of a new Cisco wireless network, deployment of Symantec security software and the deployment of several new HP desktops, netbooks and printers.

Exigent Technologies President Daniel Haurey, nominated the recipient through his firm’s membership in distributor Ingram Micro Inc.’s VentureTech Network Big Apple Cares initiative. “Having been born and raised here in Newark, this was a particularly gratifying experience for me,” said Haurey.

As the nominating firm, Exigent Technologies was also charged with several project management responsibilities for the effort. Exigent’s Service Delivery Manager, Gerald Busardo, credited his staff for their dedication to the project, adding, “I’m extremely appreciative of my staff and very thankful to the VentureTech members that stepped up to make this happen.”

According to VentureTech’s Big Apple Chapter President Guy Baroan, the Big Apple Cares initiative is the first of its kind and is chartered to help additional non-profit organizations throughout 2010. “Our long range goal is to create a model for giving back to the community that can be easily replicated,” said Baroan.

“This technology upgrade comes just in time. It’s really great when we have donations from the community to help us do the work we are doing. For our foundation, the ability to utilize up-to-date computers and a state of the art wireless network is something we can use on a daily basis,” says Kevin Zealand, Director of the AIDS Resource Foundation for Children. “We are sincerely grateful to the Big Apple Cares initiative.”

Information systems associates secures a contract to perform data center services for a fortune 500 communications company

This project will launch in the next 30 days and will be completed in the third quarter.
