Dublin telecoms software firm Ammeon creates 75 jobs

November 28th, 2011

Dublin-headquartered global telecoms software company Ammeon has created 75 new jobs – 46 of which have already been filled.

An additional nine positions have been created at Ammeon’s UK subsidiary in Reading.

The firm now intends to complement these in early 2012 with 20 jobs for both graduates and returning emigrants, as new customer contracts agreements are signed with telecommunications carriers.

Ammeon’s recent successes, with new customer contract wins in Europe and the Americas with global telcos, have accelerated the company’s growth strategy in areas such as mobile app development, high-availability telecommunications platforms and test automation.

The company said the new jobs – software architects, senior software developers and business development specialists – are part of an on-going expansion strategy, focused on assisting the migration of telecoms carriers and infrastructure providers to a cloud-based services architecture.

“We are delighted to make this announcement today, as it represents an investment in our continued confidence in the quality and expertise of Irish software engineers, and their proven technical ability,” Fred Jones, Ammeon’s CEO, explained.

“Thanks to them, we bolster our capabilities to assist in the rapid evolution of telecommunications equipment providers from legacy network-installed equipment to a ‘software as a service’ model,” Jones explained.

Dublin software firm ServiceFrame raises US$1.3m

April 7th, 2011

ServiceFrame, a Dublin-based cloud software company, has raised US$1.3m (€950,000) in venture capital, from the Bank of Ireland Seed and Early Stage Equity Fund, Kernel Capital, Enterprise Ireland and private investors.

The company’s technology enables companies to manage and govern their strategic outsourcing environments via the internet cloud. Major customers include Ericsson, Royal Sun Alliance and Warner Music.

“Our customers use ServiceFrame to make sure that they can measure the quality of service of the outsourcing and shared service they are being provided,” ServiceFrame CEO Traoloch Collins explained.

“Our software enables these companies to implement robust governance of services on a dashboard and get better value out of the relationship.”

Established in 2009, Dublin-based ServiceFrame’s technology enables companies globally to effectively evaluate, manage and govern their strategic outsourcing environments.

Effective governance
Effective governance is critical to success in outsourcing and ServiceFrame’s software reduces the manual effort and time spent by employees and managers in collecting and assessing governance data by at least 50pc.

“In the current climate, good governance is essential and ServiceFrame provides easy-to-use tools for operational and management levels alike to keep up to date on their outsourcing arrangements, and ensure key milestones and commitments are being met,” Donal Duffy, head of Enterprise Ireland Relations, Bank of Ireland, explained.

The company will use the funds to drive further growth in the UK and US markets and plans significant recruitment of sales and technical staff over the next six months to support these growth plans.

“Enterprise Ireland is working closely with ServiceFrame and is delighted to have supported this highly innovative export-oriented company,” said Greg Treston, head of high-potential start-ups at Enterprise Ireland.

“They are successfully winning new business both in Ireland and in export markets by continually anticipating and satisfying customer needs, and Enterprise Ireland is working with them to further develop their international growth.”

Orla Rimmington, operations director, Kernel Capital, added: “ServiceFrame is an excellent example of a high-potential start-up that identified a gap in the market for an easy-to-use and cost-effective governance tool to enable companies, of all sizes, to manage the risks, costs and performance associated with the outsourcing function. We are delighted to invest in this dynamic company.”

Dublin software firm to double its workforce

June 10th, 2010

Celtrino said it is taking advantage of growing customer demand for “smarter electronic business processes” and wants to expand its business into new industry and international markets.

Established since 1990, Celtrino provides software for pricing, ordering, delivering, accounts payable and accounts receivable. It employs 25 people and as part of the expansion it will take on a further 25 staff.

Among its 600 customers are Musgrave Group, BWG Foods, Unilever, Campbell Catering, Beaumex, HSE, Pat the Baker, Londis Group and Gala Retail Services.

Ken Halpin, managing director of Celtrino, is calling on the Government to take more of an initiative and to implement greater adoption of e-invoicing and the rollout of electronic supply chain administration to support our “smart economy”.

He said Ireland has the opportunity to follow what only six of the 27 member states of the EU have done and make it mandatory for public sector organisations to trade electronically with constituent private sectors.

One recent study conducted by the European Commission estimates that companies using electronic and automated invoice processes can achieve savings of 80% over their postal counterparts.

“Our experience is that manyorganisations now see the business case for deploying an automated system to handle the huge volumes ofpaper-based commercial transactions that take place on a daily basis both within and between companies,” he said.
