SoundBite Communications Inc. of Bedford has appointed Diane Albano as executive vice president of sales and client management. Albano will be responsible for the global sales, services and delivery strategy of SoundBite’s customer communications offering. Albano began her career working for technology giants Burroughs and Xerox, after which she joined Digital Equipment Corp. While there, she served in various sales management, global account management, and executive leadership positions. After Digital, Albano managed Genuity’s 900-person sales and marketing organization. She also has held senior-level sales roles at Aspen Technology, FAST (acquired by Microsoft), Honeywell Corp., Progress Software, Thomson NETG, and Workscape.

VFA Inc., a Boston provider of software for facilities capital planning and asset management, has promoted Brian E. Lynch to vice president, federal market. Lynch previously served as federal business director at VFA, working closely with senior real property officers, capital planners and asset managers at federal government agencies. Prior to joining VFA, he held a variety of positions, including serving as an executive for a real estate investment trust consulting firm and as a consultant concentrating on technology business workflow, financial management and processes at Ernst & Young LLP.

GateRocket Inc. has named Jim Hogan to the Bedford company’s advisory board, and Jim Wagner has been named director of sales. Hogan has worked in semiconductor design and manufacturing for more than 35 years. He is currently managing partner of Vista Ventures LLC, and an active strategic consultant to public and private technology companies. Prior to Vista, he was general partner at Telos Venture Partners, and senior vice president of business development at Artisan Components. Wagner’s sales career has spanned semiconductor and PCB design and design verification, signal integrity, and physical verification, and he managed top-tier accounts with GenRad, Cadence, Viewlogic/Innoveda, Mentor Graphics, Sigrity and Valor Computerized Systems.

Burlington e-mail marketing software and services firm e-Dialog has named Tony Terranova as vice president of marketing. Terranova previously served as vice president, global product marketing at Genesys Conferencing. Prior to Genesys, Terranova held earlier positions at MultiLink/PictureTel, Arthur D. Little Inc. and Nynex (now Verizon). He holds an MBA from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Tufts University.

Burlington’s Avaxia Biologics Inc. has named David Poorvin as chief business officer. From 2004 to 2009, Poorvin served as an executive-in-residence at Oxford Bioscience Partners, a biotechnology venture capital firm. Prior to joining Oxford Bioscience Partners, Poorvin worked at Schering-Plough for 22 years, the last 10 as head of business development. Poorvin had also held positions of director of clinical research at Schering-Plough and at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. He started his career in the pharmaceutical industry at Lederle Laboratories, were he directed pre-clinical research in the cardiovascular area.

Mobile Messenger, a Los Angeles-based mobile technology provider with its technology arm in Boston from its recent acquisition of m-Qube from Verisign, has named Larry Robiner as vice president, CRM channel sales. Prior to joining Mobile Messenger, Robiner was vice president of business development at Epsilon. In addition, Amy Dudman has been promoted to senior vice president, strategic operations. In her new role, Dudman will spearhead the m-Qube integration, streamline campaign operations and applications and lead corporate positioning.

Cleantech
Susan F. Tierney has been named to the board of directors of Boston-based EnerNOC Inc. Tierney has served as a managing principal since July 2003 at Analysis Group in Boston, an economic, financial, and business strategy consulting group. She previously served as assistant secretary for policy at the U.S. Department of Energy, as well as Massachusetts Secretary of Environmental Affairs, Commissioner at the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities, and executive director of the Massachusetts Energy Facilities Siting Council. She serves on the boards of directors of Evergreen Solar Inc. and Ze-gen Inc., as well as on the boards of the World Resources Institute, the Clean Air Task Force, and Clean Air-Cool Planet.

Framingham’s Everything Channel has hired Miriam Kutcher as vice president of marketing. Most recently, Kutcher was the vice president, marketing at IDC. In addition, Kutcher managed a broad range of IDC’s new venture businesses as well as the marketing for six Industry Insights Businesses as well as IDC Businesses. Earlier, Kutcher was employed at Time Inc.’s PEOPLE Magazine, Meredith Corp.’s Midwest Living Magazine, The Walt Disney Co.’s Discover Magazine and The Institute For International Research.

Commercial real estate advisory firm Colliers Meredith & Grew has named Ronald K. Perry as president. Current president Kevin Phelan will assume the role of co-chairman with Tom Hynes. Perry joined Colliers Meredith & Grew in 1984 and in 2007 was appointed head of Colliers Meredith & Grew’s brokerage group, which includes the Boston, suburban and retail brokerage teams. Phelan joined the firm in 1978 to create the capital markets group and was appointed president in 2007. Phelan will continue to lead the capital markets group as well as manage a range of institutional client relationships for Colliers Meredith & Grew. In addition, Leeanne Rizzo has joined Colliers Meredith & Grew as an assistant vice president in the suburban brokerage group, focusing on brokerage activities in the Route 128 Mass Pike market. Prior to joining the firm, Rizzo spent five years at FHO Partners.

Hopkinton life sciences consultantcy Talaris Advisors LLC has named Derek H. Lee as chief financial officer and corporate development officer. Lee comes to Talaris from SV Life Sciences, a health-care venture capital firm with capital commitments of approximately $1.5 billion. Lee has prior experience working with the global health care group at UBS Warburg and with the healthcare investment banking group at Salomon Smith Barney. He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Bentley College.

Pharma
Cambridge biopharmaceutical Cerulean Pharma Inc. has named Karen Roberts as senior vice president, finance and administration, and appointed John Ryan as chief medical officer. Roberts comes to Cerulean after serving as vice president, finance and administration, at Elixir Pharmaceuticals Inc., since Elixir’s founding in 2001. Prior to joining Elixir, Roberts held senior financial positions at Frontline Group, Dyax Corp. and T Cell Sciences. Prior to working in the life sciences field, Roberts worked at Avery Dennison Corp. Ryan joined Cerulean in July 2009, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in clinical research and development at AVEO Pharmaceuticals, Wyeth (formerly Genetics Institute) and Merck Research Laboratories. Before joining Cerulean, Ryan served as chief medical officer at AVEO. Prior to jumping into the pharmaceutical industry, Ryan held associate professorships at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Yale University School of Medicine.
