Enjoying your Nokia Lumia 800? It’s about to get even better with a brand new software update that’s started rolling out today. How will it improve your Windows Phone experience? Read on to find out more.
Nokia Lumia 800: 10 ways to prolong battery life
The Nokia Lumia 800 is pretty hard to fault, with its lovely 3.7-inch display, slinky polycarbonate design and class-leading Windows Phone 7.5 OS. What’s more, Nokia and Microsoft continue to improve the phone’s performance through a series of timely updates. Speaking of which, a new update has just touched down a whole three weeks early – meet 1600.2487.8107.12070.
What we have here is a software update that will add a bunch of improvements and performance tweaks to the Nokia Lumia 800. First up battery life will be improved, both in terms of stand-by and talk time.
Then there’s the sound. If you’ve been enjoying listening to Nokia Mix Radio on your Lumia 800, but are craving a little more low-end oomph, you’re in luck. The latest update will boost the Lumia 800’s bass levels to an all-new high (or should that be low?).
Have you noticed that your Nokia Lumia 800’s soft keys will only light up when the brightness is set to automatic? That’s now been changed so that they light up at all brightness settings – very handy when checking your phone in the dark! In addition, Nokia promises other performance improvements too, including an improved camera experience.
So when can we get our hands on this update? Starting this week and rolling on over the next four weeks, customers in the UK (among others) will receive a notification about the update to version 1600.2487.8107.12070 of the Nokia Lumia 800 software. Nokia’s got a little checker tool over on its website, and it looks as if Vodafone customers are getting the update first. Have a look to see when your operator is ready to push it out.
