It takes a lot of technology to run one of the largest virtualization events in the world, and Wyse Technology, the global leader in cloud client computing, is playing a big role in making this week’s VMworld 2010 show deliver a rich experience for the estimated 17,000 plus attendees. Wyse is currently appearing at VMworld 2010 in San Francisco, California, at Booth #521.
Nearly 1,000 Wyse thin and zero clients are in use in this year’s show, providing a rich experience for attendees, and a trouble free experience for the various IT teams, show execs and Wyse partners delivering thousands of virtual desktops.
Nearly 500 Wyse P20 zero clients, the most popular zero client for VMware View, were used in VMware’s fast-paced training labs, bringing the virtualization experience and opportunity to over 18,000 lab sessions. These sessions occur over WAN, showcasing the performance of the PC-Over-IP protocol in real world conditions.
Wyse thin and zero clients were also used for show infrastructure, and in nearly 20 booths in the solutions exchange.
* 80 Wyse C90LEW compact thin clients welcome attendees in the registration area
* 60 Wyse C90LEW thin clients provide email stations all around the event
* 48 Wyse R90LW high-performance thin clients are used in the business workshops
* 60 Wyse R90LW thin clients appear in the VMware booth in the Solutions-Exchange
* Wyse’s new PocketCloud 2.0, for Apple iPod, iPhone, and iPad was used throughout the event to deliver virtual desktops to the mobile elite.
* And scores of Wyse thin and zero clients are used in demonstrations of solutions by participating vendors including: Arrow ESC, Atlantis, Cisco systems, Citrix Systems, Desktone, EMC, GreenPages, IBM, iLand, Kavisa, Quest Software, ThinPrint AG, triCerat, Teradici, Red Hat, The Virtual Computing Environment (VCE) coalition, and World Wide Technology.
“Wyse thin and zero clients dominated the show, with more Wyse clients used at this show than all other vendors combined,” said Jeff McNaught, chief marketing and strategy officer for Wyse. “This communicates to the estimated 17,000+ attendees that Wyse cloud client computing is an ideal way to deliver true cloud computing, with virtual desktops and unified communications offering no-compromise user experience, high-reliability, in desktop, mobile or handheld designs to users across a wide range of roles and responsibilities.”
