Baseline data systems announces office accelerator wireless BlackBerry sync

Baseline Data Systems has announced the release of Office Accelerator Wireless BlackBerry sync service. As an alternative to Google Sync, Office Accelerator’s content relationship management software offers more functionality when syncing to the desktop and outlook with the BlackBerry.

Office Accelerator solves the limitations of Google Sync by allowing for unlimited contacts and calendar events to sync. In addition to deeper sync limits, Office Accelerator also offers free phone support from trained technical pros. The Office Accelerator software ships with a full client contact manager that allows users to network their PCs without the need for an Exchange server or BES. Office Accelerator requires no cables and syncing can be done over the air wherever you have network access. Support for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Outlook 2010 also come built-in.

With integrated CBT technology your BlackBerry data is protected from loss, theft and accidental resets. Should the worst happen, simply replace your Blackberry and re-sync. Your old BlackBerry will be locked out, and your data will be restored where you left off.

Office Accelerator provides data cleansing utilities to repair data that has been compromised by unreliable BlackBerry Sync Apps or other PC applications. Issues such as duplicate contacts can be easily fixed.

Office Accelerator costs a bit less than a dollar a day per user to run. First-time users receive a second user free for the first year. Volume discounts are available for mass installations. The service includes free upgrades, updates, tech support and help getting up and running too.

BOBO Bingo now live

Canadian online bingo software provider Parlay Entertainment Inc. has launched a new internet bingo website dubbed BoBoBingo.com for owner Dedsert Limited.

Dedsert co-founder Gary Hunter commented on the site’s debut, saying: “The Dedsert management team have many years experience in the telecoms and direct marketing sector and look forward to blending this experience with Parlay in the bingo and gambling world. We will be forging new partnerships and developing novel and innovative ways to bring new players onto the network.”

Adobe reader, Acrobat patches coming Tuesday

Adobe on Tuesday plans to release updates to its widely deployed Reader and Acrobat software to address a number of flaws, including a pair of known issues, the company announced Thursday.

Updates to the Reader 9.3.4 for Windows, Macintosh and UNIX and Acrobat 9.3.4 for Windows and Mac will close an undisclosed number of “critical” vulnerabilities. Reader and Acrobat 8.2.4 also will receive an upgrade.

The updates were due to be released Oct. 12, but moved up a week due to active exploits targeting a vulnerability confirmed by Adobe earlier this month.

That unpatched flaw, which garnered vulnerability tracking firm Secunia’s most severe rating, could be targeted to crash a user’s machine or take complete control of it, according to a previous advisory from Adobe.

Five days after that disclosure, Adobe revealed another unpatched bug affecting Reader and Acrobat. However, unlike the other zero-day, Adobe said it is not aware of any in-the-wild attacks targeting the vulnerability. The same hole also impacted Flash but was plugged in that software a week later.

As PDFs have become one of the most heavily targeted file types by cybercriminals, users are advised to treat all unsolicited PDF files with “extreme caution” and avoid visiting untrusted websites where their machines may be infected with exploits, according to security firm F-Secure.
