Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has upgraded its enterprise-level environmental, health and safety (EHS) software platform from IHS in order to beef up the company’s regulatory compliance and sustainability management program.
KNPC is a global leader in oil refining, gas liquification and supplying petroleum products to local and international markets. The company first purchased IHS software for EHS management in 2003 and implemented the system with the assistance of Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), a consulting and project management firm serving Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
Now KNPC is expanding its EHS management capabilities by working with IES again to implement the latest version of the IHS software suite. This implementation is part of a two-year agreement between KNPC and IES under which IHS will deliver software licenses, implementation services and maintenance services, while IES provides project management, onsite maintenance and system training.
“The new IHS software will help us maintain our goal of upholding the highest standards for environmental, health and safety management throughout our operations,” said Mohammad Husain Ali Nazar, team leader for technical applications, information technology, at KNPC. “We look forward to continuing our work with IHS and IES to support our goal of establishing KNPC as a global industry leader for EHS compliance and sustainability management.”

With the latest version of their IHS software for EHS, KNPC will be able to advance industry best practices, including certification with International Standards Organization (ISO) 14001, and track key performance indicators to measure the company’s progress in reducing emissions against corporate goals and industry benchmarks.
