China’s software industry’s revenue climbed 28.7 percent year on year to 362.6 billion yuan in the first four months of 2010. The growth marked a 5.2 percentage points expansion from the same period of last year.
The industry has experienced a three-month consecutive revenue growth, and accomplished software business revenue of 105.3 billion yuan in April, rising 36.7 percent year on year and 7.1 percent from March.

Revenue from value-added information technology (IT) services posted outstanding progress in January-April, and that from software design and development showed a robust rebound.

– Development in different regions
In the first four months of this year, software business revenue growth in eastern China rebounded rapidly, while that in central and western China slid.

China’s software export value grew at a slower pace in the first four months of this year, and the outsourcing service export value showed stable development.

Chart 4 shows the export growth of the software industry in January-April.
Moreover, 15 sub-provincial cities accomplished software business revenues of approaching 180 billion yuan in January-April, rising 30 percent year on year, accounting for about one half of the nation’s total.
