SEO software-the risks of automated programs

May 31st, 2010

Using automated SEO software is always a scary endeavor. There are so many different elements to think about, and you need to make sure that you understand that too much automation can kill your ranking position in search engines. It is not about avoiding the use of automated tools, but about figuring out which tools you can use and which you should stay away from. There are many areas of SEO that are already automated without having to put any software in place. However, there is also a great deal of things that you can automate, as well as many that you shouldn’t.

Keyword research and word tracking are areas where automation is actually critical to the success of search engine optimization. Without automated practices for these two areas, many websites and SEO professionals would be drowning in their attempts to optimize a website. Another important area of automation is in site analysis. You have to be able to track your tools, resources, and finished products to see what is working and what needs some work. Without software tools to interpret the information that you are given, you would not be capable of monitoring your site properly.

Automated programs and software solutions are not always the answer, though. There are many different automated software products out there to choose from, and while they all promise big success and great accomplishment, they’re not going to be successful if you use them in every aspect of your website and SEO practices. Automation can destroy all of your hard work in a split second if you’re not careful. Search engines don’t like automated software and they spend a lot of time and money to figure out sites that use these automated tools and weed them out of the rankings.

Certain SEO tasks and duties can be automated, but not all of them should be. Research and analysis are easy to automate without affecting your search rankings. If you are trying to create or replicate content or build links, you’ll want to avoid automated software programs because it’s not going to do any good. Create original content for your website and work to establish your own relationships with other webmasters to build links rather than relying on automated programs to do the work for you. Owning a website is about working smarter and not harder, but a truly successful person knows when to work hard and when to take advantage of resources that can make things easier.

BMC software introduces new unified management platform

May 31st, 2010

BMC Software announced the worldwide availability of BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management.

BMC said its Cloud Lifecycle Management enables organizations to achieve the difficult act of balancing their customers’ desire for flexibility and responsiveness with their own responsibility to control, constrain, and manage the cloud environment.

“EMA is pleased to see a cloud initiative that is a natural outgrowth of BMC’s core strengths, rightly targeting heterogeneous migrations rather than all-or-nothing leaps of faith into cloud as a panacea, as has been the case with a few of BMC’s competitors,” said Dennis Drogseth, vice president at analyst firm EMA. “BMC’s new cloud lifecycle solution set was validated across more than twenty-five customers before its general availability release this month.”

Fujitsu has embraced cloud computing to help with information and communications technology (ICT) responsiveness of its customers.

“Fujitsu welcomes BMC’s announcement of Cloud Lifecycle Management,” said Akira Yamanaka, corporate senior vice president and president of Software Business Group, Fujitsu Limited. “Through our close partnership with BMC, Fujitsu will enable mutual customers to obtain even greater value and benefit from their ICT infrastructure.”

Microsoft to ship windows 7 mobile later this year

May 31st, 2010

Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer told reporters at a news conference late last week the company expects to ship its Windows 7 Mobile software later this year.
However, while the software will be available before the end of the year, some analysts have said handsets carrying the OS may not be available in time for the Christmas season.

Additionally, Microsoft has said it intends to launch an app store for users to download and install applications.

Ballmer has said the Windows 7 Mobile software will be a dramatic change from the company’s previous OS instalments, with a new UI design and support for third-party apps.

The company also hopes to take some of the market back with its new venture. Currently it holds just 6.8% of the mobile market, down from 10.2% a year ago, according to Gartner figures.
